This Privacy Policy explains how the Clarity suite of Shopify apps (the “Apps”), developed by Juan Pablo Florez Ramírez (JuanPaFirez) (“we”, “us”), processes data when a merchant installs an App on their Shopify store. It applies to all Clarity Apps, including Clarity Reviews.
Who this applies to
We process two kinds of data: information about the merchant’s store needed to run the App, and, for some Apps, content that shoppers submit on the storefront (for example, a product review). We are the data controller for the limited data described below; the merchant is the controller of their store and customer data.
What we collect
- Store information: your shop domain and the access granted by the scopes you approve at install (e.g.
read_productsto show product titles). We never request more than an App needs. - App configuration: the settings you choose in the App (design, plans, rules).
- Shopper-submitted content (Apps that collect it, such as Clarity Reviews): the name, rating, text, and optional photo a shopper enters in a review form. This is content the shopper chooses to publish.
- Anonymous usage events: aggregate counts such as widget views or form opens, with no personal identifiers.
We do not collect payment card data — billing is handled entirely by Shopify’s Billing API.
How we use it
- To operate the App’s features (e.g. display approved reviews, run the moderation queue).
- To show you analytics about your own store’s usage.
- To provide support and keep the App secure and reliable.
We do not sell your data or shopper data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Sharing
Data is processed on our hosting infrastructure and through Shopify (the platform the App runs on). We share data only with service providers that help us run the App (hosting, error monitoring), under confidentiality obligations, and when required by law.
Data retention & deletion
- Configuration and content are kept while the App is installed.
- When you uninstall the App, we receive Shopify’s
app/uninstalledwebhook and delete or anonymize the store’s data within 30 days. - We honor Shopify’s mandatory compliance webhooks:
customers/redact,shop/redact, andcustomers/data_request. On a redaction request we delete the relevant personal data.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on your region, you (and shoppers) may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. Merchants can manage shopper content directly in the App, or contact us using the details below to exercise these rights.
Security
Connections are served over HTTPS/TLS, requests from Shopify are verified with HMAC signatures, and access is limited to the minimum scopes required. We store only what is necessary to run each App.
Changes
We may update this policy as the Apps evolve. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
